Feeble and Weak?

Although I don’t usually post blogs on weekends, hearing from Mary is always a blessing.

Yesterday she explained how she has felt feeble and weak at various times during the difficult 2 week process of pinpointing her cancer and determining how extensive it is. But she has marveled at the truth of God’s Word where he says when we’re at our weakest, he’s at his strongest.

Mary has experienced those fresh bursts of strength every day, exactly when she’s felt wobbly. Yesterday she read two encouraging Scriptures:

“Strengthen your feeble arms and knees.” (Hebrews 12:12)

“Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, ‘Be strong, do not fear; your God will come’.” (Isaiah 35:3-4)

Karl pushing EvieGod came today, strengthening her with 3 pieces of good news:

  • All Mayo Clinic tests searching for cancer apart from in the pancreas came back “normal.”
  • She and Bervin will be leaving Mayo Clinic to visit Luke’s family near Minneapolis tomorrow (2 grandchildren).
  • By tomorrow night, Mary will be sleeping in her own bed, in Chicago, resting up for surgery in mid-March.

God knows exactly how to take feeble-and-weak and grow it into strong.

Mary’s prayer requests:

  1. Praise for normal EKG, colonoscopy, and blood work today.
  2. Pray for safe travels tomorrow covering many miles.
  3. Praise and gratitude for overwhelming love and prayer support from so many, which has “moved her to tears.”

    You do not know me, but I heard your story a while back on the Christian radio station I listen to. My daughter lost her son this past August, shortly before his 21st birthday. I intended to sign up for your blog at that time, but didn’t do so. When I finally signed up, it was just when you were getting the news about your sister, Mary. My heart sank, but I have been so encouraged to read your posts. Suffering is difficult, but how the Lord is upholding you and your family. Your posts are such a blessing. I am praying for you and all of your family as you walk through difficult waters once again, but am praising the Lord that you know and trust his faithfulness. Blessings and sweet rest for you and your family tonight.

    to know that Mary is so confident and in tune with God’s presence in her life.

    I only know your family through your blog which I read daily. It is such a blessing and encouragement to me. So much biblical wisdom. I just want you to know Margaret that I am praying daily for you and your dear sister Mary and her family. My husband lost his battle with cancer so I know the hard road you are walking right now. Mary’s strength and faith in Christ is a wonderful testimony to our Lord. This was good news today. Blessings on all of you

  9. WHAT GOOD NEWS & GOD IS SOOOO FAITHFUL ! IT IS AN ENCOURAGEMENT TO HEAR THE RESULTS OF THE TESTS TO KEEP PRAYING FOR TOTAL HEALING OF MARY’S BODY SO THAT SURGERY WOULD NOT BE NECESSARY.   10. Hallelujah! Such good news!! I’m so glad for Mary’s “Gramma visit!” Those babies will be such an encouragement! (They’re still her babies, no matter how old they are.) Sleeping in her own bed will be icing on the cake. Tons of love and prayers from NC.

  12. Margaret, I’m so sorry to hear about your sister. I have been praying for you all. I’m glad to hear the news is better. I was just reading today on the Breaking Christian News sight.
