Nelson is still focused on purchasing the house, a healthy focus away from cancer. Although he thought it could never happen, each day brings his dream closer to coming true.

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” (Psalm 20:7) An old favorite.
I’d love to say I’m a good enough man to trust in the Lord, despite having a hundred chariots and horses parked in the garage, but I have to admit that probably the reason most of us trust in God so heavily is because we don’t have another choice.
We could turn to evil or to our own devices of course, but I think if we had the means, most of us would use them. But God knows we are dust and that we are wayward, so we go with it and thank him for being so kind to us, despite ourselves.
“May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion. May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests.” (Psalm 20:1-5)
These are the verses leading up to the first one. What a great prayer, leaning on the Lord to answer when we call. It sounds like one guy praying that another guy’s prayers be answered. Pretty cool.
We are in the process of trying to get the financing to buy this house. It involves getting a couple leases signed by the current tenants, which I think will work. I dropped them off yesterday when we were there for the house inspection. That cost $525.
When I saw the report, I felt like it was a lot of money for something I felt like I could have generated myself, but it makes you feel a little better to actually see something in writing—at least noting that the place will not just fall to the ground any second. It came out better than I thought it would.
