When plans go awry, we shuffle our thinking and come up with a new plan. Birgitta and I have spent our day shuffling, trying to catch up with unplanned events.
Her plan was to drive her car from Chicago to the University of Iowa today, to begin an eight week summer school course. But tonight her car has been sold as junk.
My plan was to head from Chicago back to Michigan. But tonight, at 1:00 am, I am typing in Iowa City, Iowa.
Jack’s plan was to be sleeping in Michigan tonight, after a romp on the beach. But he’s bedded down in a “doggie designated room” in a Days Inn in Iowa.
I’m on and off www.GettingThroughThis.com just long enough to let you know I’ll explain tomorrow.
Hi Margaret,
Sounds like you are having to be a Gumby and you are contorting nicely at that!
When life goes awry, it’s nice to know the Alpha and Omega knows the end from the beginning, and the middles are proceeding along, too. Very hard to hang onto that though in the midst of the issues.
Love,
Terry
sounds like you are having an adventure – can’t wait to hear what happens next. Judy
Sounds like our trip to Illinois for Helen’s memorial service when we ended up in the ER with Jim’s dislocated shoulder. Detours.

I like the fact that we have 26 letters to our Alphabet. I can go from Plan A to Plan Z, and often have to do it, in a heartbeat. What can be frustrating is…..when you are tired and hungry, the hour is late, and you are dealing with other people, all at the same time.
I think today has probably been a better one for you. Let us know, please.
